I’ve been hoping that all of the parcels I’m waiting on will arrive before my OH and I leave for Vanuatu next week, and luckily they’re trickling in slowly. Today I received the second Marie Claire ‘The Parcel’ beauty subscription box and I was very excited to get it open! It was quite heavy – you might even say bursting at the seams!
So, what’s in the box?
Marie Claire’s new beauty box – The Parcel – has now been shipped and I was very excited to receive mine in the mail on Friday!
Overall, they have put together an impressive launch. Marie Claire obviously has the brand recognition, the cash and the clout to be able to hit their first box out of the ballpark, and its good to see that all of the promotion wasn’t just talk. I was impressed by the communication (letting everyone know when the boxes were being shipped, etc), the quality of the contents (valued at well over the $25 price tag) and the customer service (I queried a charge on my CC and they were quick and clear with their response).
So, what’s in the box?
I’ve been saying it for months now, but this time I finally mean it: I think it’s time to cancel my Bellabox subscription.
I received my September Bellabox yesterday and to say that I was underwhelmed by it has got to be the understatement of the century. I really thought that after last month’s box, things were on the up-and-up, but it must have been an anomaly. This month’s box, well, to put it bluntly… it sucks! Three of the products aren’t actually skincare or makeup (yes, THREE!) and nothing in it is super exciting or what I’d consider to be “luxe”, so I’m finally going to just give up and click the big ol’ [CANCEL] button.
My January Bellabox arrived in the mail today – YAY! It arrived two days after I received my initial tracking email, which is a huge improvement on previous months. Kudos to the Bellabox team for improving their communication about box delivery times and stepping up to meet their customers’ expectations.
While not quite as bad as last January’s box, I have to admit that this one was a little light on. There are definitely a few things I’ll enjoy using, but it really does feel like it’s just filled with leftovers from previous boxes.
My Bellabox has arrived, and it’s a case of better late than never. The boxes seem to be getting sent out later and later every month, and having to worry about whether it’s actually going to arrive tends to take some of the sparkle out of receiving it.
Also, whats up with the new boxes? I loved the previous brown and turquoise boxes because they were strong and sturdy and I could use them to store things in. These new boxes are very unimpressive and I really hope they’re only temporary!
Anyway, as there has already been enough griping on social media about box delays and the like, I’ll just get straight into my first impressions. Here are the products I received:
