Bellabox January 2014

My January Bellabox arrived in the mail today – YAY! It arrived two days after I received my initial tracking email, which is a huge improvement on previous months. Kudos to the Bellabox team for improving their communication about box delivery times and stepping up to meet their customers’ expectations.

While not quite as bad as last January’s box, I have to admit that this one was a little light on. There are definitely a few things I’ll enjoy using, but it really does feel like it’s just filled with leftovers from previous boxes.

Mine contained:

  1. ModelCo Fat Lash Volumising Black Mascara (11ml)
The much touted, full-sized mascara product that everyone will receive this month. I haven’t really liked previous ModelCo products I’ve received (they all felt a bit cheap and nasty) so I don’t know why I would like this one, but I’ll give it a go because I need a new mascara anyway.
  2. Palmolive Ayurituel Shower Gel in ‘Rosemary & Patchouli’ (50ml)
I’m always happy to receive travel size toiletries, as they make travelling so much easier. The scent is quite fresh, so it will be great for summertime use.
  3. Brauer Paw Paw Lip Shimmer in ‘Blush’
I have never heard of this brand before, so it’ll be interesting to try it. I really do prefer tinted lip balm products to lip sticks or glosses, as they perform two jobs for the price of one. The only problem is that I have about a million of them, and it’s also hard to beat the NARS Pure Sheer SPF Lip Treatment, which is amaaaaaazing!
  4. Romy Body Lotion in ‘Eucalyptus & Lemongrass’ (30ml)
  5. I’m pretty lazy when it comes to body lotions, and I already have so many of them, so it’ll probably be years before I even get to this one (especially since I received this same product last month!) The scent is not very strong, but it absorbs into the skin quite quickly which is good.

  6. Avene Soothing Moisture Mask (5ml)
  7. It seems like Avene have been flooding the beauty box market with their products as of late. I love facial masks, though, so I’m excited to try this one. It could be good for a long haul flight, as you always need a decent moisture hit when you’re flying.

  8. Avene Hydrance Optimale Rich Hydrating Cream (5ml)
  9. I will probably hold onto this one for winter, as rich hydrating creams are no good to me in the hot, humid weather. I’ll never say no to a moisturiser sample though, as they’re really handy for travel.

  10. Banana Boat Everyday SPF30+ Sunscreen (15ml)
  11. Yet another sachet of sunscreen. Oh well, I suppose I’ll find a use for it if this heatwave sticks around a while longer!

I’m always interested to see what other people got in their beauty boxes, so if you received something different or more exciting than me, let me know in the comments below!

    • I think I preferred your box, Mel. I love Egyptian Magic, and I would have liked to try the shampoo and conditioner. Oh well, that’s the nature of a sampling box, I guess!

Thanks for taking the time to visit my blog!

  1. I got an identical box to you, big improvement on last month where I almost unsubscribed. I’ll use everything in this one. Would’ve liked a hair product or Gatineau product instead of more Avene, but for $15 it’s not too bad

    • Have you ever tried changing your beauty profile, Linda? I’m not sure how much difference it would make but I’d like to get more hair products so I made a couple of changes to try and influence that. We’ll see how it goes!

Thanks a lot for visiting my blog!
