I’m so pleased to have been asked to fill in for TTDT on 3RRR again this week! It’s a lot of fun researching, scripting, producing and editing the segment and great to get back into the studio as well.
Part of me was a bit worried that I had forgotten how to work it behind the console, but it seems that I’m comfortable enough in the studio now that it all comes to me quite naturally – which is a great feeling!

I’ll make no bones about it, I was completely exhausted during the show this morning. I tried to get some sleep beforehand but 2-3 restless hours probably made things worse, not better. Despite the handicap, I think I still managed to pull off a decent show and this was certainly helped by the fact that I was super-organised and had a great playlist of music ready to go.

I’m really happy with my graveyard shift this month, and I feel that it’s the best one I’ve presented since I first started doing them. I received quite a few phone calls at the studio during the broadcast from listeners complimenting me on my music selection, which is always a huge confidence boost and definitely a sign that I’m on the right track.
I’m sleep deprived and feeling more than a little seedy, which is pretty normal after presenting a Graveyard Shift and getting a lot less than the recommended dose of a good night’s sleep. It’s all worth it though!
You can listen back to the show which (in my humblest of opinions!) was a pretty solid four hours of great music – I was more than pleased with my selection this month.
